Elijah loves to dress up in costumes right now. Linda got a bag full of old Halloween costumes for the boys at a yard sale I think, and they have been a source of continuous entertainment for him.

Little eyes are watching

Today while Elijah was at preschool, I let Micah eat his lunch at the coffee table while he watched Sesamee Street. He normally sits at the table with Elijah. We are always reminding Elijah to take his plate to the kitchen when he is finished, and lately he has really been doing well about doing it without being reminded. Today, I sat on the couch and watched in awe as our 18 month old shoved the last bit of hotdog into his mouth, promptly picked up his bowl, smiled at me with cheeks full of food, waddled to the kitchen, and reaching as high as he could left his bowl on the counter. He turned around and waddled back toward me, smiling broadly, obviously pleased with himself for being so big.

This is a recent picture of Isaiah. He is growing so quickly. What a happy guy!

BMV

WORDS OF WISDOM- Don't ever try to take 3 children under 4 to the BMV at the same time, even when it doesn't look busy. Their computer system will crash in the middle of the transaction, your 18 month old will try to run out the door twice, your 5 month old will cry unless you are rocking his seat constantly, and you'll be asking your 3 1/2 year old to do things like "go get your brother out of that lady's purse" when he can barely keep himself under control. Yes, I am speaking from experience. Only one minor injury. Micah slipped off a chair and hit his upper lip on the edge of the counter. He has a small bruise, but no blood and no broken teeth or bones, so I think we're OK. Family picture day tomorrow. Another adventure. Wish us luck. You'll probably see the results in your Christmas cards and Micah will have his wound in the picture, but I've already rescheduled twice becuase of various bumps and bruises, so we're just going to have to accept it as a part of our lives right now.

Bed time

Putting Elijah to bed is always an adventure. He has to have a story, prayer time, lights out, a minute to snuggle and then we're allowed to leave his room. Last night he asked me an interesting question. After we prayed, he was getting comfy, turning his pillow over and over like a dog making its bed, and he stopped and announced, "Mommy, we need a pillow for Jesus." I told Him that Jesus could have my pillow since I would be getting up soon. That seemed to satisfy him.

Micah

Micah is 18 months here. He is still our little teddy bear. He sleeps about 15 hours a day (more than Isaiah most days) and he loves to be cuddled. He is just starting to talk and can say "Eye-aye-ah" for Isaiah and "Eye-ah" for Elijah. He says "Neh" and "No" and "a un da" traslation- I want that.

Isaiah

Isaiah is alert and very active. Here he is in the swing, playing and watching his bros. He is about 4 months old here.

First Day of School

Elijah had his first day of preschool this year. He only goes two days a week from 9-11am, but it was a big change for him. The first day was a little rough, but now he looks forward to it and tells us all about his day when we pick him up. He must have a guilty conscience though. If he has gotten in trouble at all, that's the first thing he tells us. Yesterday he said, "Mommy, I got in trouble because I was screaming." I asked why he was screaming, and he said, "I wanted puzzle time and the teacher said it wasn't puzzle time, it was marker time." He also talks about a little girl named Daisy; she is his friend, but Zachary Graber is his best friend.

Welcome

Well no idea yet really what this will be, but hopefully a forum for us to connect with old friends and family (not that you all are old, just that we've known you for a long time) and maybe make some new ones.

Simile Metaphor Collection

Elijah after running: My heart is beating like a coconut rolling down a hill.
Elijah on urination: Pee is like horses galloping out of the gate. Once they get started you just can't stop them.
Elijah: If school were a human I'd give it a wedgie.
Elijah: I am like a hot rod and I just want to be a plain old Ford
Elijah on the fruits of the spirit: I've got them all covered except self-control. Its like a tiny green tomato and the rest are all big ripe ones. Especially love. Its like the biggest tomato we saw in the garden tonight.
